PAS' PRESS STATEMENT
The Islamist Party of Malaysia strongly condemns the barbaric attack of Israeli Naval Commandos on a convoy of ships carrying aid to Gaza Strip. The murderous attack on Mavi Marmara, the lead vessel of the flotilla on international water some 75 miles of Gaza, has brutally killed 19 people and wounded many others.
The six-ship flotilla, carrying 10, 000 tonnes of humanitarian aid, was the ninth attempt by activists from all over the world, including Malaysia's Lifeline4Gaza and chiefly from Turkey, to defy a blockade imposed by Israel on Gaza since Hamas took power in Palestine in 2007. The blockade by Israel which has turned to be one of the world's greatest human right violations, has apparently turned Gaza into the largest concentration camp in the world, with most of the 1.5 million Palestinians living there denied access to the most basic needs such as food, water and medicine.
The assault has proved once again that the Israel-Zionist regime practices state-sponsored terrorism. The world could never remain calm and tolerate this any longer. This shall be the last of Israel atrocities on Palestinians, nay on all others. From December 2008 to January 2009, the Israeli armed force committed a massacre which killed more than 1400 people and wounded over 5300 people in Gaza over 3 weeks.
The inhumane attack on humanitarian aid to Gaza has again revealed the true nature of the Zionist Israeli state – a fascist state founded on the mass expulsion of the Palestinians. The world is well aware that the genocidal regime of Israel has been financially and militarily supported by the imperialist power of the US. It is now mandatory on the Obama's Administration and the people of the United State to immediately condemn the atrocities and withdraw all their support for the Zionist state if they truly believe in attaining peace in the region and the entire world.
The Islamist Party of Malaysia, PAS urges:
- The United Nation Security Council to immediately lift the blockade of Gaza by implementing its resolutions of 1850 and 1860 and secure the peace in that region.
- Governments all over the world to condemn the massacre of unarmed civilians by Israeli troops and to bring Israel to justice for its war crimes on the Palestinians and the humanity.
- US and its allies to stop all military aid to Israel and impose an arms embargo against Israel for engaging in the orgy of human rights violation on Palestinians.
- All Malaysians from all walks of life to express their utmost concern and condemnation over the atrocities and to be ready to respond for any need for action and join hands to support these brave volunteers of the Freedom Flotilla.
- All people of the world to continue to supplicate and pray for the success of this mission – 'Freedom Flotilla' and the safety of the volunteers from further untoward incidence and Peace and Freedom for all Palestinians.

Please be acutely aware, the pro-israeli PR machine including Mark Regev and 'The Australian's Tom Rabinovich are trying to divide the movement by dividing the supporters into Muslim, Christian, Gay, Women etc.
Take counter measures.
